Kathmandu-Gorkha-Kathmandu Homestay Package

Day 1 Arrival KATHMANDU (1300m)
Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport; you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and check-in to the Kathmandu Home Hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Thamel, the anchorage for tourist. You will find numerous restaurants, shopping colonnades, bookstores, outdoor outfitters, money changes and ATM machines.

Day 2 Drive to GORKHA (1135m)
After breakfast we will take a scenic 4 – 5 hour drive to Gorkha. Gorkha, the birth place of founder of Nepal, the great renowned hero King Prithvi Narayan Shah; is nestled at 141km west from Kathmandu. Upon reaching Gorkha, we will head to Namjung and will check-in to a typical Gorkhali Home. Witness the cool breeze and fresh air coming from their main crop low land rice, maize and finger millet.

Later we will visit the Gorkha Durbar (palace) of the Royal family. At the west side of the palace is the temple of Goddess Gorakhkali. We will venture to the famous cave sheltering the statue of Sage Gorakhnath. It is believed that the name of Gorkha was derived from the name of this sage, whose blessings inspired King Prithvi Narayan Shah for the unification of Nepal.

We will stay overnight at the village to enjoy songs, music and stories the local folks accompanied by their simple everyday farmer’s dinner. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

Day 3: Hike to THULO LAKE
After our home cooked breakfast, we hike up to Thulo Lake. Experience a magnificent 2 hours hike crossing landscapes of rice-terraces, gigantic rhododendron, alpine forest and shrub wilderness with the fascinating backdrop of snowcapped peaks. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the lake.

Later we will hike back to a local village to experience the locals at work. We will visit the Nepali Village School and experience the education system of Nepal. Stay overnight in the Village and take part in various activities of the local people. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 5 Drive back to KATHMANDU
After breakfast we take a drive back to Kathmandu. At midway, we halt to take the 8 minutes cable car to the temple of goddess Manakamana. Enjoy the awe-inspiring hills to the temple.

Upon reaching Kathmandu Home Hotel, take a pleasant rest and wonder around the various shops and eateries in Thamel. Stay overnight at hotel. Meals: Breakfast

Day 6 Sightseeing around KATHMANDU
Upon breakfast we will embark on the full day tour in Kathmandu, reconnoitering the UNESCO heritage sites. Firstly, to Kathmandu Durbar Square that encompasses glorious Newari architecture, artistic courtyards, ancient sculptures and the home of the Living Goddess, Kumari Ghar. The tour will include Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple and Kasthamandap.
The tour will proceed to Boudhanath, a Buddhist Stupa said to be one of the largest in the world. This massive structure stands tall with four pairs of eyes each facing the four cardinal directions, watching for righteous behavior of mankind and for human prosperity. The tour will continue to Swayambhunath Stupa which believed to rise spontaneously from the waters (geological evidence supports this), hence the name swayambhu, meaning ‘self-arisen’. It is the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines of Buddha in Kathmandu Valley.

Another marvel in Nepal that not to be ignored is the world's tallest statue of Kailashnath Mahadev (Lord Shiva) with a height of 143 feet; stands majestically on the top of a hill in Sanga. Pretty spot to take snaps and appreciate the cool breeze.

Lastly before returning to the hotel, we will proceed towards Pashupatinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits alongside the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the courtyard of the temple, whereas others can see the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River. You will have the opportunity to witness open public crematorium with all the rites being performed. If you are lucky you will be able to see the holy men “Sadhus” posing for pictures with painted face, dreadlocked hair and ash-applied body. Meals: Breakfast

Day 7 Free and Relax day in KATHMANDU
Today is free, relax or enjoy shopping, shopping, shopping for the shopaholics.

After breakfast, let’s drive to buy affordable Zara, Camel or Adidas shoes at Bhat Bhateni, handicrafts, art, jewelry, rudraksha and saligraam around Pashupathinath temple. Go for a cup of freshly brewed coffee and pastries at Baker’s Den or sumptuous Biryani at Hyderbad Biryani House.

Finally, walk to Thamel to indulge ourselves for a last minute shopping. Stay overnight at Hotel. Meals: Breakfast and dinner.
Day 8 Drop to AIRPORT
Today is the last day, so after breakfast we will be drop to the airport to catch our flight to Malaysia. Meals: Breakfast,

Day 4 Drive to POKHARA (884m)
After morning breakfast, we head for a 4 hour drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is the third largest city of Nepal with the view of three out of the ten highest mountains in the world — Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu. You will be warmly welcomed by our representative and check-in to Hotel. Later in the day, you can stroll around the lake to be acquainted oneself with the place and indulge in some light shopping. Meals: Breakfast

Day 5 POKHARA
Early at dawn we hike up to Sarangkot viewpoint (1592m) to witness nature’s ethereal lightshow as the sun rises over the Annapurna range turning its peaks from white to gold.

After breakfast, we drive to Devi’s Falls. It is an awesome waterfall lying about 2 km south-west of Pokhara airport. The water travels through a natural tunnel prior to the fall flow about 500 feet from ground level.

Then the tour will bring you to Gupteswar Cave. A 3 km long Gupteswar Gupha, is a sacred cave for the Hindus. The phallic symbol of Lord Shiva is preserved here in the condition that it has been discovered. An entrance fee is charged and taking pictures inside the cave is prohibited. Mahendra Gupha or otherwise known as the bat cave is a large limestone cave that you will be brought to witness the stunning stalactites and stalagmites.

In the evening we go lazing by the Phewa Lake for the leisurely row on its sparkling waters. Another attraction is the reflection of Mount Machhapuchhre and Annapurna range on the crystal clear water of the lake. While boating, you can gaze at several varieties of fish. Meals: Breakfast

Day 6 Drive back to KATHMANDU
